Speed tests by internet provider

Choose your provider for a test with explanations tailored to your connection.

Every provider has its own technology, speed tiers and typical problems. Pick yours to run the test with explanations made for your connection: what result to expect, why it may be slow and what to check before calling support.

United States

Cable, fibre, 5G home internet and satellite. Every provider must publish a broadband label with typical speeds and latency (FCC rules), so you can compare your test with what was promised.

United Kingdom

Openreach and alternative full fibre networks, Virgin Media's cable and fibre network. Most providers follow Ofcom's speed code: they must give you a minimum guaranteed speed and let you leave if it is not met.

Canada

Fibre from the former phone companies (Bell, Telus) and cable from Rogers and others. Plans vary a lot by province; the CRTC regulates the sector.

Australia

Most homes use the National Broadband Network (NBN) through a retailer. Since September 2025, fibre and HFC homes can get NBN 500, 750 and 2000 tiers, and retailers must publish typical evening speeds.

India

Fibre to the home has spread fast in cities, with symmetrical plans from 30 Mbps to 1 Gbps, alongside 5G fixed wireless (AirFiber) where fibre is not available.
